In our OEM sales, two sources for product dependent devices are always necessary. Our second source, available previously to OEMs, is now available to everyone.
The Mini2440V2 from Hiteg is 100% compatible with the Mini2440. There are some small differences that concern trying to use a Mini2440 in a Mini2440V2 application. Anything that runs on the Mini2440 will run on the Mini2440V2 including FriendlyARM LCDs. If the Mini2440V2 is loaded with Mini2440 software and an LCD, it will work. The V2 (or Mark II) is not entirely reverse compatible.
Features of the Mini2440V2 not currently found on the Mini2440:
1) Mini2440V2 LCD cable includes I2C control for an ATMega uP on Hiteg MegaLCD displays for controlling backlight and some general purpose I/O. In HIteg's Linux, the backlight appears as a Linux device.
2) Mini2440V2 is RoHS and ISO9000 certified.
3) All components are Industrial Temperature Range. The Mini2440V2 allows procurement departments and BOM writers to have multiple sources for the Mini2440 type ARM9 board, as well as meet RoHS requirements where needed.
